The world of Nedia

Game of the Gods

Long ago the gods of another realm challenged one another to a game. A game of who could have the most mortal beings bow to them by choice would be crowned the most powerful God of all. The rules were set the Gods could not touch the planet, they could only choose a mortal Champion to speak on their behalf. It would be their Champion’s responsibility to listen to their God, spread their Gods name and teachings to as many mortals as they could, before another champion gets there first.

Champions would be gifted decades longer to live compared to the mortals around them, powers stronger than other furred or feathered folks around them, and a weapon, forged by the God themselves. Each Weapon would serve as a symbol to the mortals, that this person was indeed chosen by the god they claim to be speaking for. This was also the only could thing that could successfully kill another God’s Champion.

If killed by another champion, the god would need to wait another 5 generations before they would be allowed to choose another champion to spread their words to the mortals of the realm. allowing the other champions to wipe their name from the land, and convert all their followers to follow another gods law.

Magics

The world is overflowing with magic, it bleeds form the ground its self in some areas. no matter where you are magic seems to be growing and pulsing, imbedding its self into everything that grows on the planet. each child born on Nedia is born with a bit of magic within them, that grows stronger and wilder as they age. all children of the world share the common teaching of “You must learn to wield it before it wields you”. meaning if they don’t learn how to control their magic, it will continue to grow until it becomes uncontrollable.

Society

Depending on where you are at on the map, Societies are shaped and enforced by the Champion ruling that territory. Every Champion leads their cities and towns under the “word of their god” which they hear in their mind from time to time.

if you lived in a territory ruled by the Champion of lighting, they could set the rule to give an offering to the lightening temple each month, you would be expected to do so.
